Disney!

Hey, everyone!

I hope you all had a nice work week and are ready for some weekend fun...I sure am!  :o)

I wanted to share another layout I made for the Queen & Company NSD challenges.  This challenge was to scrap about a Disney or amusement park visit. Since, I would identify my family as a definite Disney family, I have a lot of Disney pics laying around to scrap.  I chose some of my favorites and whipped up this layout pretty quickly:

Thanks for stopping in!

A Few Shares...

Good morning, everyone!

Happy Memorial Day.  While I am loving the long weekend, I do always take a moment to reflect on what this day really means and say a little thank you to the men and women who have sacrificed it all for the freedoms we hold so dear.

With this long weekend, I was able to get a bit of scrappy work done.  I was 5 weeks behind on my Project Life (aughhh!) and now am only 2 weeks behind.  Thank goodness.  Here is my week 19 spread:

I made the spread using May's kit from Cocoa Daisy.

Another thing I made with that kit?  This layout for The Studio Challenges:

The challenge this week was to create a layout showcasing a selfie.  I took the challenge literally, even with my title :-)  Also, can I just say how much I adore this patterned paper?!?!  It's from Maggie Holmes' Style Board collection (Crate Paper) and I cannot get enough of it.  I'm going to stretch this one piece of paper as far as I can... :-)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello Summer!

The unofficial start of Summer is here: Memorial Day weekend!  I am ready to put my toes in the sand and get some sun!  Bring on Summer!

In celebration, I made a very quick card:

This was made for another one of Queen & Co's NSD challenges.  This one was a color combo challenge.  As soon as I saw the color pallet, I knew something Summer-y was in order.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a safe weekend!

Fun with Washi Tape!

Good morning, everyone!

I have a new layout to share with you today.  This layout was made for one of the National Scrapbooking Day challenges over at Queen and Company.  Unfortunately, I was super busy on the actual NSD, but lucky for me, Queen & Co's challenges ran a little long.  This challenge was all about using washi tape.  Here's what I made:

Love the pink and green color combo!  And I love the colored doilies from the Curtsey Boutique!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Stitch Fix #5: The one with all the stripes

Good morning!

I received my most recent fix in the mail on Thursday...always VERY exciting!  :-)

For an in depth run-down of Stitch Fix, click on my first “review” here.  Here are the basics:

1.  Fill out a style profile.
2.  Schedule a fix!  This can be as frequent (or infrequent) as you would like.
3.  Pay $20 – this is the “styling fee.”  However, if you keep anything from your box, it is automatically applied to your purchase.
4.  Get the clothes and try them on in the comfort of your own home with stuff you already have.
5.  You have 3 days to mail everything you don’t want back to Stitch Fix in a pre-paid shipping envelope.  If you keep all 5 items from your fix, you get a 25% discount.

As I said in the title, I got a ton of stripes (4 out of 5 items were stripey).  I love stripes, so this was not a big deal for me.

Here is a closer look at what I received in this month's box:

I'll start with my favorite item first: Tina Striped Open Cardigan
Love, love, LOVE this!  The color is pretty and the weight of the sweater is perfect for this time of year - a great night-time sweater.  It's different than any cardigan I currently own.  Status: KEPT

Crosby Striped Maxi Skirt
I just don't think I look that great in maxi skirts.  Well, at least not the ones made of jersey material.  Maybe if this skirt were slightly more flowy, I would have gone for it.  Status: RETURNED

Brentwood Tiered Striped Long Sleeve Sheath Dress
This dress was not for me...AT ALL.  I have seen it on some other blogs and the ladies who got it looked fabulous.  But on me?  I think it looks a bit trashy...Status:  DEFINITELY RETURNED

Alessandra Striped & Colorblocked Blouse
This was the second item that I kept.  I was so excited when I received it because I have seen it on a bunch of blogs and I adored it.  Plus, I have a huge crush on the color yellow.  I'm so glad that it fit me!  Status: KEPT

Selfridge Cowl Neck Long Sleeve Top
Typically, I love cowl necks.  And I certainly loved the color of this one.  In the end, though, I just decided that this top wasn't for me.  I can't quite put my finger on it, but I just didn't think this worked incredibly well.  Maybe if the cowl neck was a bit higher and the faux cami wasn't there...Status: RETURNED

Final thoughts:  Even though I only kept two items from this box, I really like the two items I kept.  I think I will wear both of them quite a bit.

And who doesn't love a great stitch fix photo shoot blooper shot?!?! (aka: Stitch Fix dance party)

The Studio May Sketch Challenge

Hi, everyone!  If you are a Mom in the U.S. - Happy Mother's Day - and if you're not a Mom in the U.S., hopefully you still got the appreciation you deserved today.  :o)

I am popping in very quickly after a super busy weekend to share my newest layout for The Studio.  This time it was a sketch challenge (which I adore!).  Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it:
I sort of stuck to the sketch, although not quite.  But if you squint your eyes and tilt your head a little maybe you can see the original inspiration in there!  I used the April kit from Cocoa Daisy for this one.  I really love the colors in the kit, so I've been using it a lot recently.

I hope you can stop by The Studio and see all the different, fun takes on the sketch...and if you get a chance, play along with us for a fun chance to win a prize!

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Studio Calico, Cocoa Daisy; Journaling Card: Cocoa Daisy; Alphas: Jillibean Soup; Label Sticker: My Mind's Eye; Enamel Shapes: Doodlebug Design; Leaves, Phrase Embellishment: Studio Calico; Wood Veneer: Sodalicious

PL 2014 || Week 16

Oh man!  I have been such an awful blogger recently.  And the last few posts have been way too Project Life oriented.  Unfortunately, today is no different.  Another sad thing:  I am two weeks behind and I have a crazy weekend planned, so I have no doubts that I will be three weeks in the hole come Sunday.  I'm going to have a lot of catching up to do...and I hate that!  Oh well...enough of my whining...

Week 16 was made using Cocoa Daisy's April kit.  I loved the greens, blues and yellows - so bright and cheerful!

I cut my page protector down to the size that I needed it to be.
I made a card that flipped up and revealed a fun photo of a group of us from work.
And here is a close-up of one of my favorite parts of the layout.  There will be a tutorial on the Curtsey Boutique soon showing how I made it (hint: it was suuuuuper easy!).
Thanks for stopping by.  Hopefully I will have something a bit more exciting to share next time.
