Memorial Day and a GIVEAWAY!

Good morning, all!If you live in the United States, then you probably have a nice day off from work. I always take a moment to think on this day. I think about all the men and women who have sacrificed their lives to protect our country. I am so thankful for these people. I know that their job is not easy and I can only imagine what it must be like to be deployed away from your family and friends, fighting in a foreign country. I've been on the other side of the deployment and consider myself extremely lucky that I've never lost someone close.

Photo credit here.On a lighter note, I got the cleaning bug yesterday. It was kind of nice going through a lot of my stuff. I have a lot of "older" scrapping supplies that I adore, but that I never used (I've mentioned I'm a hoarder of good supplies), so my goal is to use more of those supplies. That being said, I also have tons of stuff I want to get rid of. So, if you're interested, please leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite "old" supply is. I'll announce a winner on Thursday. I do apologize, but right now this giveaway is only open to readers in the U.S. unless you are willing to pay for shipping.

A Very MeSsY Layout

Good morning, all! I have a quick layout to share with you. I did it for the grid challenge over at Studio Calico. The layout came out REALLY messy in the end. I couldn't get my stitching straight, so I decided that the messy approach was best...I actually like how it turned out, though: And there really is an "r" in the "Nerd" label, but for some reason my scanner doesn't like that color...

Hope you have a wonderful weekend...and a nice long one if you're in the U.S.!

Layout: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Making Memories, Studio Calico, Sassafras; Alphabet Stickers: Doodlebug Design; Chipboard Hearts: Maya Road; Tag: Jillibean Soup; Punch: Martha Stewart; Mist: Tattered Angels; Tools: Ae Are Memoy Keepers Sew Easy Zig Zag, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher; Miscellaneous: Emroidery floss, pen

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

This *wonderful* holiday still lasts a few more hours here in California, so I can still say that :)

As I mentioned yesterday, I had to work most of the day today, but I did get home in time to play along with a Scrapbook.com's 2-hour NSD challenge. And even though I didn't win anything, I had a great time with it.

The challenge I played along with asked us to scrap 3 or more photos about getting out of the house and going somewhere. Here is what I made:
Did you participate in any fun challenges today? I'd love to see! Share the link in the comments section. Thanks for popping by!

Punky Scraps Challenge 15

Hey, everyone! There is a new challenge posted over at Punky Scraps today...and it's a recipe challenge! I just love those. For this challenge you have to use all 5 ingredients:

*no cardstock
*paint
*twine
*stitching
*stamping

Here is what I created...I promise everything is there. I just did it all in small doses :) And sorry for the funky looking twine. My photo-stitching software did not want to stitch the twine together.

Have a nice weekend...I hope you get to celebrate National Scrapbook Day. I have to work, but I'm hoping to find the time to celebrate for at least a few hours at the end of the day :)

CS - 154

Hey, everyone! I am super excited to tell you that I am the guest designer over at Creative Scrappers this morning! Anyone who has been following my blog for awhile knows how much I love CS, so it was quite an honor for me.

Today's sketch was designed by Nicole Nowosad...I absolutely adore her style and check out her blog religiously, so I was psyched about that, too. The fact that the sketch involved paint splatters just added to the wonderfulness :-)

Here is what I created:
Head on over to Creative Scrappers to see the sketch and what the CS designers did with it. I love how there are so many different layouts created from the same foundation.

Enjoy your day!
