hi!

Hey, all! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I barely got any crafting done, but I did clean and organize my scraproom - something that was way overdue. I donated a lot of supplies to charity, so I didn't feel as bad about all the money I have wasted on unused scrapping supplies...ha!

I was able to make a few cards, though. Here they are:

Thanks for stopping by...enjoy the week!

New sketch!

Hey, all! I hope that everyone had a nice weekend. I did, but as always, it went by way too fast. I did, however, make a new sketch to share with you...I know that it's been forever since I posted one. Here it is:
And here is the layout that I made with it:
This layout was done for the Scrapbook.com week-long challenge that they had to celebrate National Scrapbook Day. The challenge was to scrap a photo/photos that did not have people in them. I scrapped a picture of Hawaii...and played around with the coloring of the photo to get 3 different looks. I'm not very savvy with photo editing, so I was sort of pleased with myself...haha :) I wish I could take credit for the cool photo, but I can't. One of my friends took it and I stole it from his photo stash. I was originally going to hang it up in my apartment when I moved, but I never got around to it. I scrapped this photo because I want to go back to Hawaii so badly. I've been once (about 6 years ago) and it was amazing...it really was pure bliss :)

Well, that's all I have for now...Let me know if you use the sketch...I would love to see others' take on it...and have a good work week (If you're like me, you may be thinking "ugh")!

CS #103

Hey, all! Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! I, myself, am not a mother, but I appreciate my own very much and I realize how tough the job can be...

Well, it's Sunday, so you know what that means: Creative Scrappers has a new sketch posted! Bounce on over there to check it out! My goal is to get everyone as addicted to this blog as I am...haha! Here is my take on it:
It's not really my traditional, scrappy style, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I've scrapped this picture once before, but I'm not the biggest fan of the final product, so I did a re-do :) Here was my first take done back in January (ick!):
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!

The winner of this challenge gets a $25 giftcard to Scrapbook.com, so bounce on over to SOTB and check it out.

I also got to conquer one of Lizzy's challenges on this: #15 Stick to a single color. I used my favorite color: orange :)

Have a happy weekend!

Quick Layout

Hey, all! I have some quick layouts to share with you. First off, I scraplifted an awesome layout that I saw in the newest edition of "Srapbook Inspirations Idea Book." The layout I scraplifted was on page 127 and was done by Laura Buckingham. I added my own twist to the layout, but I got the ideas of outlining around my white papers and making the patterned papers crooked from her layout. You should check out this magazine...it's so much fun! And I love the Sassafras Nerdy Bird paper (the turquoise with loops on it)...Here is my layout:And here is another really quick, somewhat unimpressive layout that I did, also using the Nerdy Bird collection:
Thanks for stopping by...have a happy day :)

Mother's Day cards

Hey, all!

This weekend I had some time to get crafty and make some mother's day cards. First off, I completed a Cosmo Cricket challenge. We had to use this color combination on a project:

Here is the card I made:

And here is another card I made using the April Polka Dot Whimsy kit:
(Sorry for the icky picture...)

Happy Monday...try to enjoy the day as un-fun as Mondays are :)

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Hey, all! I hope everyone is enjoying this super fun holiday! :) I've been doing a little celebrating over at Scrapbook.com. They are doing tons of giveaways every hour. I have yet to win anything, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :) Click here to get to the Scrapbook.com NSD giveaways!

They also have a challenge going on over there. You have to do a layout about why you scrapbook.

The Paper Poppy is also doing a challenge where you have to journal in your own handwriting and use one of your newest punches.

I used the same layout for both challenges. Here it is:
Here is what it says: I scrap because I love being creative...I love preserving memories...I love pretty paper and fun embellishments...I love the joy it gives others...I love feeling inspired...but most importantly I do it because it makes me happy!

Happy kraftin' today!!!
