Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner || Paper Issues Challenge

Good morning everyone!  I am stopping in today to share my take on the "Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner" challenge for Paper Issues.  I have to say, I absolutely adore these kind of challenges that give very specific guidelines about where you can have stuff on your page.  They are definitely challenging, but I also end up creating layouts that I love.
For today's layout, I used the new Wild in Love collection from Photo Play Paper.  I think this collection is supposed to be for Valentine's Day.  But I think it's perfect for everyday.  The patterns are so fun and fresh!

Anywho, here's my challenge layout...I kept everything to the corners...and I really like how it turned out.

I hope you can play along with us this month!  And if you want to purchase any store items, make sure you use code KAT20 to save 20% off your store order.
Have a wonderful day!

Joy || Bella Blvd

Good morning everyone!  Popping in here this morning saying merry Christmas Eve to all those who celebrate!

I was very excited to work with the new Merry Christmas line from Bella Blvd for this layout.  My daughter did an awful job cooperating for Christmas card photos last year, so I was so happy that she cooperated this year.  :) The pictures on this layout aren't even the final photos that made it on the card, but they are still cute so I had to scrap them!
2018 - 54
I had a lot of fun ripping papers and mixing patterns.  This line is so much fun and I know I'll be breaking it out to scrap more of our Christmas memories from this year :)
Thanks for stopping in - have a safe and happy holiday season!

Take 5 Challenge || Paper Issues

Good morning everyone!  I'm here today to share my take on the Take 5 challenge over at Paper Issues!

This is such a fun challenge for me.  The challenge is usually fairly easy, but also always makes me dig something out of my stash that hasn't been used in a while.  That was definitely the case today, as I dug out some of my favorite wood veneer alphas for this page.  A few years ago, I used these alphas on everything, but then one day I just stopped.  I'm glad they've made a comeback!  Now they'll pop up on at least a few more projects until I put them away.
Other items used from the list include: Gold, Mint, Stickers, Patterned Paper and a Label.  I used the Shine on collection from Amy Tangerine to create this layout, and there are still some embellishments from this fun collection left in the store.

I hope you can play along with us this month!  And remember to use code KAT20 on any store purchases you make to get 20% off your entire order!

Have a happy day!

Grid Lock || Paper Issues

Good morning everyone!!  Popping in to share my take on the Grid Lock challenge over at Paper Issues.  I recently got a fun box of Cassie Mail that included Crate Paper's new Hooray collection.  I had to immediately play with it, as I knew it'd be perfect for scrapping some of my daughter's photos from her first birthday shoot.

I began by creating two columns of patterned paper squares, then I glued down my photos, then added the torn paper to the sides of the columns then embellished!  It came together super quickly.  I adore how colorful and fun this collection is.

You can grab some in the store - make sure you use code KAT20 to save 20% off your order!

Beach Trip || Pretty Little Studio

Good morning everyone!  I'm here today to share a recent layout I made with the stunning Savannah Dreams collection from Pretty Little Studio.

Even though it is Fall here, I cannot get over my Summertime vibes.  I really am a Summer girl.  And while I like wearing Fall clothes, the joy for me really only lasts a few weeks, and then I'm back to craving warm weather and beach days.  So, to help me get through the loooooong wait, I decided to scrap some photos from our recent beach trip.

I really love the papers in the collection, but this Inner Artist pattern really has my heart.  I've typically been a solid white background girl, but I am trying to branch out of my comfort zone a bit recently, and this pretty paper certainly helps.

Thanks for popping in - have a great week!!

Paper Issues || Winged Things Challenge

Good morning everyone!  Popping in this morning to share my take on this month's Winged Things challenge over at Paper Issues.

When I decided what I was going to scrap, I was actually surprised.  When I first heard about this challenge, I figured I'd do something nice and feminine with lots of pretty butterflies.  I'm a girl mom and she's pretty much the only thing I scrap anymore.  However, recently Piper has been in love with her book all about bugs.  It has shiny pictures and she gets lots of tickles when we read it, so it's become one of her favorites.  I really wanted to document these fun memories.

The Bug Explorer collection from Bella Blvd was absolutely perfect for this subject and challenge...it's a slightly older collection, but there's still some left in the store here.  It's so much fun and I wish I had more reasons to use it!

Here is my whole layout:

Fall Beauty || Pretty Little Studio

Good morning everyone!  I wanted to pop in today to share a recent layout that I made with the Potpourri collection from Pretty Little Studio.
I took this photo of my daughter last month and I thought it was really cute and I wanted to get it scrapped right away.  The photo coordinated perfectly with the Potpourri collection - I absolutely adore the combo of oranges, purples and greens!

I hand-cut a few hearts, fussy cut some leaves, and added minor embellishments and mist drops to complete the spread.  It came together quickly and easily.
Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Issues Sketch

Good morning, everyone!  Here today to share a new layout made with this month's sketch from Paper Issues!

I always love a good sketch, especially when I'm in a creative rut.  Sometimes I follow the sketch exactly and sometimes I modify it a little bit.  For my layout today, I did modify the sketch a little bit to go slightly more with my typical style.

Here is the sketch:

And here's my take on it:

I used the Hello collection from Doodlebug Design and I really love how it all came together.  While there's none of this gorgeous collection left in the store, there are some other great Doodlebug products available here.

First Birthday || Bella Blvd

Hi everyone! I'm here today to share a recent layout that I made with the Wish Big (Girl) collection for Bella Blvd.  This collection is so much fun and is absolutely perfect for me since Piper just turned one!

For this layout I decided to get one of my favorite photos from her one-year photo session printed in a large size.  I wanted the picture to be the main focus of the layout.  However, I sometime have a difficult time scrapping large photos, so I made sure to add a cluster of embellishments at the top of the photo.

I also used the ephemera pack to create a big title on the bottom of the layout.

I'm a big fan of how it all turned out.  This collection totally makes my girl shine!

Striped Sensation || Paper Issues

Good morning everyone!!  I wanted to pop in today to share my layout for the Striped Sensation challenge for Paper Issues.  I always have a hard time using backgrounds other than white cardstock, so I really wanted to challenge myself to branch out a bit.
I used the "Blue Ain't Your Color" kit from August to create my kit.  The beautiful blue and white striped paper served as my inspiration and the basis for my layout.

Here's the full project:

Bella Blvd || Fussy Cut Week

Good morning everyone!  Just popping in today to share a layout for Bella Blvd's Fussy Cut week.  All this week on the blog and on social media, the Bella Blvd team will be sharing fun ways that they use fussy cut paper on their projects.

I've been itching for Fall to get here, and it looks like it has finally arrived.  When I saw pumpkins for sale, I immediately bought some and snapped some photos of my girl with them sitting by the front door.  I decided to use the Sweet & Spooky collection and the IF Gratitude Documented collection to highlight my fall page.

I  fussy cut flowers from the "Night Garden" paper from the Sweet and Spooky Line and I fussy cut leaves from the "Season of Gratitude" paper from the Gratitude Documented Line.  I also smattered in some pieces from the new Plaids & Dotty collection...because seriously, that collection is perfect!

Here's the final project:

Cutest Costume || Pretty Little Studio

Good morning everyone!  I'm here to share my newest layout with you that I created for Pretty Little Studio.  Is it crazy that I'm in the Halloween spirit already?  I know it's still September, but for some reason, I'm really into Halloween this year.  Lol.
So for this layout, I scrapped a photo of Piper's first Halloween and I used the Goosebumps collection to document it.
I started by painting some thick black stripes on cardstock and then layering on the photo and some embellishments.  It was definitely a fun layout to create and I really like the way it came together.

Thanks for popping in!!

Free Cut Files || Paper Issues

Hi everyone!!  Popping in today to share with you a recent layout that I made using some of the awesome FREE cut files from Paper Issues.  I decided I wanted to scrap these photos of Piper getting her craft on, so I broke out the Simple Stories collection, Crafty Girl, and combined it with two of the free cut files: the Create A Life You Love cut file and the Paint Outline Alpha.
I used a woodgrain paper to cut out the files and then backed them with papers from Crafty Girl.  I played around with backing my title, too, but I actually really liked the way it looked as is.

Here is the final project:

There are still a few pieces of Crafty Girl left in the store, so make sure you snatch it up...and use code KAT20 to save 20% on your store order!

Border Lines Challenge || Paper Issues

Hi everyone!  Just stopping in today to share a new layout that I made for the Border Lines challenge over at Paper Issues.  The challenge asks you to use a border on your page.  Your border can be made of anything...I kept it simple and made 2 different borders out of paper.

I arranged an assortment of photos from Piper's first birthday party in the shape of a number one, and then I hand-cut a border to make the one stand out a bit better.  My second border was created from a bunch of different paper scraps, washi and stickers from the Simple Stories collection, Hellos Summer.
Easy peasy!  Thanks so much for stopping by today and don't forget that you can use my code to save 20% off your store purchase!

11 Months || Pretty Little Studio

Hi everyone!  Just poppin' in here here today to share a new layout that I made with the Savannah Dreams collection from Pretty Little Studio.  Piper just turned a year old so I am smidge behind on her monthly spreads, but I'm trying super hard to catch up as quickly as I can!
I love that this collection is so versatile.  I also used this collection for her 10-month spread, but the 2 layouts look completely different - I really love that!
Here's the full spread:

First Day || Bella Blvd

Good morning everyone!  Just popping in today to share a recent layout that I made for Pop Quiz week over at Bella Blvd.  I can't believe it's already back-to-school time and I really can't believe that my sweet niece is now in Kindergarten!

The photo I decided to scrap was of my niece's first day.  The photo was so colorful and I really loved the rainbow vibe it was giving off, so I decided to combine the Pop Quiz collection with the new Plaids & Dotty collection to pull in some of those other colors.

I cut a bunch of strips, layered them, sprinkled in some random Word Salad stickers and puffy stars and that was pretty much it.  The layout came together quickly and easily:

Besties || Bella Blvd

Hi everyone!  I wanted to pop in and share a layout that I had up on the Bella Blvd blog last week in celebration of National Dog Day!

I adore these photos of Moose and Piper and have been wanting to scrap them, so this was the perfect opportunity.

I used the All People, All Nations collection, combined with the new Plaids & Dotty collection and Word Salad Stickers.

Love my superstar duo!

Thanks for stopping in!

Adventure || Clique Kits

Hey everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I wanted to jump on and share a recent layout that I made with the August kit from Clique Kits.

I've been seeing this painted background technique a lot recently, and even though it's not in keeping with my normal, "clean" style, I really wanted to give it a try.  I pulled out a bunch of purple paints, a gold gelato and some gold glitter glue to create this background.  While I'm not totally in love with the final product, I'm glad I gave it a go:

National Book Lover's Day || Bella Blvd

Hi all!  I am popping in to share another recent layout I made for Bella Blvd - this time it was to celebrate National Book Lover's Day.  We are such big fans of books in our household and we are trying so hard to cultivate that in Miss Piper.  Sometimes she's on board...and sometimes she isn't. :)

I used bit and pieces from the new Plaids & Dotty collection and combined them with papers from the Island Escape collection.  I also used some of the new Heart Hugs and Word Salad Stickers embellishments.

Here's the full spread:

Thanks so much for stopping in...happy day!
