Hey, all! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful holiday season and that your Christmas was fabulous! This will probably be my last post of 2010, so I figured that I would share my favorite layouts from the past year. I always love when other people do this because I find it so interesting to see what my favorite scrappers consider to be their best work. So, here are my top ten in no particular order...enjoy!

Punky Scraps - Challenge 1

Good morning, all!

The first challenge is posted at Punky Scraps and it's a fun one!! It's a "recipe" challenge, so we had to use at least 3/5 items prescribed. The items we could pick from were buttons, white cardstock, cardboard, ribbon and paint. And because I love a good challenge, I used them all:I love finding ways to use up my HUGE ribbon stash :)
Go check out the other girls' fabulous layouts here and don't forget to link up your entry to win a box full of fabulous goodies at the end of the month!

SOTB - Cupcake Liners

Hey, everyone! I am a little late in posting this one...

Scrap Outside the Box has their December challenge up right now. The challenge: use cupcake liners on your layout. Here is what I came up with:
The flowered circles are actually cupcake liners...I've had a couple people ask me how the gluten-free cucpakes were...they were actually pretty good. I don't have to eat gluten-free, as no one in my family has food allergies, but I do like to experiment with different things and see how things taste...Check out Elana's Pantry for some fun gluten-free recipes.

This month you definitely want to play along with SOTB. The winner of this month's challenge gets a gift card to iTunes!

Thanks for stopping by...enjoy your day!

*No patterned paper?!?!*

Hey, all!

A new challenge is posted up at Just C & S today and I got to come up with the challenge prompt. My challenge to you: create a layout without using patterned paper. It's harder than you might think! I had a difficult time with it...

Here is what I came up with:
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your week.

CS #132

Hello, everyone!

I finally got to scrap for fun! It's been awhile since I've been able to be crafty. I just recently procured the Crate Paper "Snow Day" collection and have been dying to use it. Gosh, I love Crate Paper. I also used sketch #132 from Creative Scrappers for my layout, although, I gotta say that I have many projects that I have made that could apply to this sketch...I love gridded layouts. Anywho, here is my layout:
It seems like it is becoming a tradition for me to make a layout about trimming the tree, as I did an almost identical layout last year. We even took pictures with some of the same ornaments!

As always, thanks for stopping by! Hope your work week goes well...

December ScrapStreet

Hello, everyone! Happy December!! Can you believe that it is December already? I can't...the year is just flying by...

The December issue of
ScrapStreet Magazine is posted today. I am lucky enough to have one layout published in it this month...it's one that I made last year right around this time: Find the full article here. I love going through ScrapStreet...I find it so inspirational...I always find new layouts I want to scraplift and new techniques I want to try.

Another fun place to check out today:
Practical Scrappers. They have some fun December Daily projects highlighted and I was lucky enough to be asked if they could feature one of my pages.

Have a lovely (and warm...if possible!) week!

December Daily Foundation Pages 11 - 15

Hello, everyone! I'm here to share more of my December Daily Foundation Pages. Are you getting tired of these posts yet????
The only page I have anything to say about is the one for Day 14...These are my Christmas cards for this year (only $6.99 at Target...and I LOVE them!). I try to save an Xmas card from every year so I can remeber what I sent out...it's fun to see how my style changes from year to year.

Thanks for stopping by...and for my friends in the USA...HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

December Daily Foundation Pages 6 - 10

Hello!!

I have 5 more foundation pages to share with you tonight for my December Daily project: Day 6 - This page is not too exciting...I love the Making Memories number ribbon, though.

Day 7 - The envelope opens up so I will be able to store stuff in it later. Day 8 - I wish this picture did the cardstock justice...I LOVE this cardstock...it is super glittery, very pretty...and has a smooth finish...so no glitter everywhere! It's perfect! I wish I knew what company made it because I would purchase some more, but I only had a scrap of it in a kit that I had laying around.
Day 9 - I loved this diecut from Basic Grey...it definitely works for Christmastime.
Day 10 - More glitter paper. However, unlike the other paper that I love so much, every time I touch this paper it looks like I got caught in a glitter tornado...it's still fun, though. I do love sparkly things.
Thanks for stopping by.

December Daily Foundation pages 1-5

Hey, everyone! I figured I would share some of my December Daily foundation pages. Ali Edwards strongly encourages that everyone complete all their pages before December rolls around, so all you have to do is add photos/journaling/ephemera. The project is supposed to be as stress-free as possible. I'm almost done with all my pages. I only have December 25th left. I want that one to be extra pretty, so I think I'm putting too much pressure on myself and I develop a huge creativity block everytime I go to finish it. Oh well.

Here are pages 1-5:

For this page I put eyelets on both sides of the folder, instead of through the entire folder. I wanted to be able to open the folder up all the way to add stuff in if I wanted to.

This is one of my favorites...I love the transparent background...It was actually Prima packaging that ended up being perfect for this project.

I feel so-so about this one...it's not really my style...a little too vintage-y for my liking, but the envelope will come in handy for holding extra things.

Love these fun Making Memories Christmas quote diecuts...I actually got them 2 or 3 years ago and am just getting around to using them!

Another transparent page...I wish that I had more transparencies to put in this book, but I am also kind of digging how ecletic this project is turning out.

If you want to see my December Daily cover, click here.

Thanks for stopping by! And as I said previously, if you are participating in this project too, please leave me a link so I can be inspired by what you've done! :o)

December Daily Cover

Hey, everyone!

I hope your weekend went well. Are you all ready for Thanksgiving? I did a mega grocery store run today, so I'm all set and ready to go. I'm really excited to cook dinner...I'm not the most experienced cook, but I figured I'd tackle the project...and if it turns out badly, I know how to order pizza :)

Another project I'm tackling: Ali Edwards' December Daily 2010. I've heard such good things about this project that I decided to do it this year. I wasn't totally sure about it. I don't have any kids or a huge family, so I'm worried that I will struggle to fill up all the days, but we'll see...I'm up for the challenge...and I LOVE Christmas, so I figured I should try to document it this year.

Today I'm going to share my cover with you:
I love how it turned out! I was inspired by one of Ali's ideas, found here. I painted the rim of one of my craft jars to stamp the big white circles and the one red one and I painted the rim of the lid of a bottle of glimmer mist to stamp the small green circles.

Over the next few weeks, I will share some of my foundation pages with you and then will hopefully share the final project in January.

Is anyone else doing this project? If so, leave me a link/comment...I would love to check out what you've done so far and get some fun ideas. I've been exploring all the links posted to the December Daily project site already!!

Christmas Gift Idea...

Hey, all!

I hope that you are enjoying your weekend so far. This is a Saturday that I actually have to work, but I'm not complaining too much. Next week is Thanksgiving...and I get 2 days off of work for that!

I do have a quick Christmas gift idea to share with you: make a notecard set. My Mom loves to write letters so I decided to make her an "all-occasion" set, if you will. That way I could use a bunch of scraps from my GIANT scrap bin. I also made all the envelopes, since the cards are square-shaped. With the notecards, I am including a roll of tape so she can seal the envelopes, and postage stamps. For some odd reason (and if someone can tell me why, I'd be truly interested to know) square envelopes cost more money to send through the United States Postal Service...so I figured I'd pay! Now, I just have to figure out a what to package them up all nice and pretty...my favorite Christmas preparation: wrapping gifts!
Have a wonderful weekend...and PLEASE...share your Creative Christmas ideas with me. I'm having a hard time with gift ideas this year.

Altered Clock

Hey, all!

Sorry I have been MIA for awhile...I've been super busy and totally neglecting my blog...and I expect this trend to keep up at least through December...I think it's a busy time of year for pretty much everyone.

I do have a project to share, though. I've never been big on altered projects, but with the newest challenge up at Just C & S, I couldn't resist. The challenge is open to anything you want...all you have to do is make an altered item. Here's my before picture (only $3 at Target!):
And here's my after:
(sorry for the terrible photos...)

I figured I should immortalize my favorite paper (Crate Paper "Bliss") for all of time (do you get the super, super corny pun?).

Thanks for stopping by...happy Friday and have a WONDERFUL weekend :o)
