Project Life Catch-Up (Photo Heavy!)

Hey, everyone!  Unfortunately, I got a bit behind on Project Life over the last few months...and I'm still struggling a bit to catch up (I'm only just barely into October with my mono-mint spread posted earlier this week!).  However, I did want to share a few of the spreads that I have done.  I've never been a fan of totally changing and simplifying my process just to get caught up again.  So, I will continue to chug along at my slooooow pace to ensure I'm happy with all my pages...even if that means working on 2014 Project Life well into 2015.  :)

Week 37: I used a Studio Calico PL kit for this one.  I am sad-ish to say that after over 3 years of receiving SC kits, I cancelled my subscription.  I just have a LOT of scrappy supplies on hand (especially for PL) and decided that I really needed to focus on using my stash.  This week included a fun trip to the sunflower fields for photo-taking (poor E).

Week 38: E went to Scotland (without me!!) so I used some of his vacation photos for my spread. Then I have a bunch of pictures of me doing weird things...because I get bored when E isn't here.  :o) I used a lot of Heidi Swapp on this spread...because her handwriting makes me happy.

Week 39: We went to DC for one of my friends' wedding...unfortunately, I didn't get a picture with the bride because I got really bad food poisoning right after the ceremony...so very sad.  At least we were able to get a few good dress-up pics!  Used random items from my stash for this one.

Thanks for hanging in till the end!  Have you done any PL catch-up recently?

More Fun with Highline

Hey, everyone!  I have another layout to share that I made with Basic Grey's Highline collection.  I just can't get enough of the beautiful, bright colors!

I once again combined the collection with Heidi Swapp's Favorite Things ephemera pack.  I think those two collections pair together quite nicely.

To create this layout, I used a Citrus Twist sketch that can be found here  Here's a look at the finished product:

What scrapbooking collections are you digging right now?

Hint of Mint in my Project Life

Hey everyone!  I am participating in another one of Marcy Penner's and Stephanie Bryan's Jumpstart Challenges.  The current challenge is a pocket page challenge.  They are challenging us to use only one color in our pocket page spread.  I chose mint.  This was such a fun challenge for me and I love the end result - it's always good to mix things up a bit.  I love the black and white photos - I changed them to black and white, so the mint could really be highlighted - I need to use black and white more often.

And yes - you saw that correctly...my Granny turned 100 a few weeks ago...she's such an amazing lady and I'm so glad I was able to document the special day- this is why I LOVE this project!

What do you think?  Do you like the monochromatic look or do you prefer more than one color?

Supplies: Page Protectors: Becky Higgins (Designs F & H); Journaling Cards: Studio Calico, Pebbles, Hello Forever; Sequins, Cork Shapes, Vellum Stickers, Chipboard: Studio Calico; Diecuts: October Afternoon, Chic Tags; Alphas: Studio Calico, Pebbles, American Crafts, Simple Stories; Enamel Dots, Wooden Banner: My Mind's Eye; Enamel Hearts: Lily Bee Designs; "Happiness Found" Label: Elle's Studio; Staples: Tim Holtz

The Studio: Mixed Media Challenge

Good morning, everyone!  Happy Sunday!  There's a new challenge up at The Studio today and it's a fun one - we want you to get messy and be inspired by mixed media.

I used my November Clique Kit and a lot of paints and mists to create this layout.  The results were a bit different than my normal style...but I think I like it...

I hope you can play along with us this week!!

Masquerade Ball Pep Rally

Hey, everyone!!  Today is a fun day - it's my first Clique Kits pep rally.  If you are unfamiliar with the CK pep rally, it's really just a fun little blog hop with CK design team AND subscribers.  Such a cool and unique way to share our work with each other and get to know each other in the CK community a little better.  I love the concept!

I have two layouts to share today.  The first one goes with the monthly theme:

I am so glad I live in a world where
there are Octobers--L.M. Montgomery

October has been great because seriously, in what other month would I get to see my cute niece playing in a corn pit?  I mean seriously.  Cutest kid ever.  This layout includes the October kit, plus the sew easy template which is available in the CK store here.  I am pretty much obsessed with that thing right now (which is obvious since my second layout uses it, too!)

My second layout is a just-for-fun layout.  It includes a picture from my wedding day (yes, I'm still scrapping pictures from the wedding that was over 2 years ago...don't judge!).  I've scrapped this photo before, but I didn't really like the results.  And since this is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding, I needed to do it justice.  I loved all the orange in the kit and knew instantly that it was perfect for this photo.

So, now that you've stopped by my little corner of the blogoshpere, I hope you will keep on hopping. If you leave a comment on every blog, you are entered to win a $10 gift card to the CK store.  Win! Here is the full list:
November's Clique Kit is seriously awesome, so if you are considering subscribing, now is definitely the time to do it.  And if use code KAT10, you can even get a 10% discount on your next CK purchase!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

A Little Bit of Everything...

...went into this layout.  This is one of those layouts I made by just grabbing stuff laying around my scrap desk.  Glad I got some sequins and sparkly things included in it, as well as a new cut file from The Cut Shoppe!  Not too sure how I feel about the finished product - its a little bit all over the place, but I can't decide if that's bad or not...ha!

In other news, stop back by on Wednesday for the monthly Clique Kits pep rally - you're bound to be inspired if you participate in that fun little hop!

Cardstock: Bazzill; Journaling Cards: Studio Calico, Simple Stories; Cut File: The Cut Shoppe; Glitter Chipboard, Paper Border: Heidi Swapp; Puffy Stickers: Twine & Ink, Evalicious; Sequins, Wood Veneer Letters, Mist: Studio Calico; Chipboard Circles, Badge: Hello Forever for Studio Calico; Paper Tags: Elle's Studio; Stickers: Chic Tags, Bella Blvd; Clip: Two Peas in a Bucket; "Adventure" Sticker: Kal Barteski for Studio Calico; Plastic Bag: The Curtsey Boutique; "Happy" Sticker: Jillibean Soup

Jumpstart Challenge and Instagram Love

Hey, everyone!  Because it's a holiday weekend here in the U.S., I have a little extra time for "paper play."  I decided to participate in Marcy Penner's and Stephanie Bryan's first Jumpstart challenge.  I love both ladies' work, so I was excited to see that they have decided to post bi-monthly challenges.  This first prompt asked us to use a colored photo and a black & white photo.  This is one of my go-to techniques, so I had a lot of fun with this one.

I also decided it was time to use some of the stash that I've been hoarding - mainly this Crate Paper collection.  I also recently purchased some files from The Cut Shoppe.  It's been awhile since I used my silhouette, and I'm loving everything that Ashley creates, so I decided to go for it.  Although, I did realize that I need a new cutting mat and a new blade - my current mat is not as sticky as it should be and my blade is not cutting as clean as it should!  Ha!

In other, unrelated news, I finally caved and got an Instagram account.  I am sort of obsessed.  I think that is why I waited so long - I knew it would be addictive!

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill, Recollections; Patterned Paper: Crate Paper; Wooden Shapes: Freckled Fawn, Pinkfresh Studio; Label Stickers: Crate Paper, Heidi Swapp; Banner, Mist: Heidi Swapp; Enamel Dots: My Mind's Eye; Alphas: Simple Stories; Cut File: The Cut Shoppe; Doily: The Curtsey Boutique; Chipboard Heart: Studio Calico

Project Life with Clique Kits

Popping in real quickly to let you know that I have a post up at the Clique Kits blog this morning - it's about using your kit for your pocket pages!

The colors in this month's kit are so vibrant and fun - I couldn't resist using them for a Project Life spread.  Plus, their kits make it so easy because they almost always include the cut-apart journaling card papers and always include the CK exclusive cards.

You can see more details on the CK blog!

Curtsey Boutique Shares

Good morning.  It's back to work today.  Blah.  Luckily, I got in a lot of time at my scrap desk this weekend, so I can't complain too much.

I have been a tad bit delinquent in sharing some Curtsey Boutique projects recently, so I figured I would share two of them today.

The first is a Project Life spread.  This includes the week that E hurt himself.  I included his hospital bracelet in one of the pockets (all his info is whited out for privacy purposes).  This week also focused on Summer and I love how bright and colorful it turned out!

Next up, another Project Life spread.  This week included one of my best friends' baby showers.  She's having a little girl in a few weeks (exciting!) and I jumped on the opportunity to pink up the spread.  The Curtsey Boutique had a lot of items that were perfect for the cause:

And finally - a card that I made for Childhood Cancer Awareness month (September).  The owner of Curtsey Boutique, CarrieAnne, is very passionate about the cause.  A dear friend of her's lost their little boy last year and CarrieAnne has really tried to raise awareness.  I contributed an all-gold card to the blog.  Even though September is over, you can still help the cause.  Here is one site to check out.

Week 26: Page Protectors: Becky Higgins (Designs F & H); Journaling Cards: Studio Calico; Simple Stories; Washi Tape: Queen & Company; Star Clip: Maya Road; Alphas: American Crafts, Studio Calico; Label Stickers: Simple Stories; Sequins: Lawn Fawn, Studio Calico; Chipboard Star, Word Labels: Studio Calico; Staples: Tim Holtz; Doilies, Tag, Plastic Bag (on homemade filler card); Glitter Stars, Starburst Label; Sick Pin: Curtsey Boutique

Week 30: Page Protector: Becky Higgins (Design N); Journaling Cards: Studio Calico, Amy Tangerine; Library Card, Butterfly, Book Page Star, Stick Pin; Arrow Tag: Curtsey Boutique; Paper Bag: Webster's Pages; Chipboard Shapes: Studio Calico; Enamel Dots: My Mind's Eye; Alphas: October Afternoon, Studio Calico; Patterned Paper, Label Stickers: Heidi Swapp; Diecut: Chic Tags; Word Stickers: Little Yellow Bicycle; Staples: Tim Holtz

Clique Kits October Challenge

Hey, everyone!

The Clique Kits October challenge is live on their blog now.  This month's challenged is sponsored by Fancy Pants - and there is an awesome prize up for grabs: a Fancy Pants 12x12 Oh Deer! set.  Exciting!  For this challenge you can make absolutely anything.  You don't have to use Clique Kits products or Fancy Pants products, although, if you do, you have an extra "edge."

For my take on the challenge, I combined the October kit with some patterned paper and a ticket from Fancy Pants' Me-ology collection:

Isn't that picture the cutest?  I have the most adorable nieces...

We hope you can play along with us over on the Clique Kits blog!!  And as always, if you see anything in their store that you like, use the code KAT10 for a sweet 10% discount!

Hey, everyone!  I have my first Clique Kits layout to share with you tonight.  It was made using October's kit, Masquerade Ball.  This kit is awesome - chock full of Kelly Purkey's Second City line for Basic Grey, plus a lot of fun coordinating embellishments.  Sigh.  I'm in love.

This month's kit is already sold out, but there are still some awesome products in the Clique Kits store (including the super pretty silk strips!).  And if use the code KAT10, you can get a 10% discount (full disclosure: I get a little CK credit too if you use that code).

There are a bunch of other awesome layouts and cards posted on the CK blog today, so head on over and check it out for some great inspiration!
