This month's sponsor is Cuts2Luv.  Their flair badges are pretty much amazing. :)

I also broke out some Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness collection and one of my favorite cut files from The Cut Shoppe.  I also used one of the new Creative Scrappers cut files...so much fun!

Creative Scrappers || Sketch 297

Good morning, everyone!  Happy August!  Time is whizzing by!

I wanted to pop in and share this month's sketch from Creative Scrappers:

This month's sponsor is the awesome The Cut Shoppe!  There is even a free file for you to download and play with.

I had so much fun with this layout.  I love, love, LOVE the Quirky Quads background file that I used on this layout.  And I adore the new Elle's Studio collection.  I struggled a little with the sketch itself, but I just shrank it down a bit and found it much easier to work with.  I was still very inspired by it and its overall design:

I really hope you can all play along with us this month!

Thanks for popping in!

Creative Scrappers June Sketch

Good morning, everyone!  I'm excited to pop in and share the June Creative Scrappers sketch with you!  The sponsor this month is Jillibean Soup - how awesome is that?!?!

Here is the lovely sketch that Kristine created:

Here is my take on it:

Since Jillibean Soup is this month's sponsor I tried to use their products on my page.  It was a lot of fun digging into my stash to bust out some of my favorite Jillibean products.  Those journaling spots are still one of my favorite products!

I hope you can play along with us!!

Creative Jumpstarts with The Curtsey Boutique

Hello, hello!  As you read this, I'm off on a work "adventure" for the next week.  But I've scheduled a few posts so I don't fall too far behind in blogging.  (I hate when that happens).

This past weekend was a long one for me because of the Veteran's Day holiday.  It was rainy and overcast and I was able to get a ton of scrapping done.  It was pretty much perfection!  In addition to working on some of my assignments to be shared a little bit late, I was also able to play along with the current Creative Jumpstarts challenge (run by Marcy Penner and Stephanie Bryan).  The challenge this time: use 5 patterned papers, 2 brads and 1 frame.  Here is my take:
I've had a 6x6 Doodlebug Design rainbow stack staring at me for a while now just begging to be used, so I'm glad I was finally able to.

In creating this layout, I also used the most recent Studio Calico Sunday sketch...as soon as I saw it, I knew I need to break out some Curtsey Boutique shipping tags and doilies!

Have you played along with any CJ challenges?

Top 10 in 2011

Hi, all! I LOVE when other people do these posts, and I love posting my own, because it forces me to look back at my work throughout the past year. This year was fun to look back on because I think my style evolved a bit. And all my favorites are super colorful...So, here are my top 10 favorite layouts, in order by when they were made: (P.S.- This was a pre-scheduled post and sometimes Blogger isn't very nice to me. If my pictures end up with a million annoying spaces between them I'm sorry!)

Combo of Green, Pink, Blue and
Green Horned Unicorn products:
Loved Sassafras' Paper Crush collection:

Loved those Glitz rub ons:

This is around the time when every single layout I made contained about a billion butterflies:

I made this for my guest design stint at Creative Scrappers:

I loved Studio Calico's Metropolitan kit more than any other. This was the first SC kit I ever bought and it is still my fave:

Such a weird combo of colors here, but I was pushed into it with one of Crate Paper's color challenges:

On this one, I was trying to clear out some of my brad stash...I think it worked:

One of the first layouts that really illustrates my new style:

This was made from another Studio Calico kit, Field Guide. Love the colors, the fun picture, everything...I think this is my favortie layout from the entire year:

And there we go...my top 10. E was sitting by me while I was prepping this post and he picked out 2 of his favorites, neither of which ever entered on my radar. It's funny what people consider to be good and how we evaluate our own work. Here are his 2 faves:

A layout of us being ridiculous...he likes how colorful it is, and how funny the picture is:

This one features pictures from Catalina Island. And includes Merv, the seagull. E loved Merv, therefore E loves this layout:

Thanks so much for hanging in here until the end. I hope that you have a happy New Year. I'll see you in 2012!

CS - 154

Hey, everyone! I am super excited to tell you that I am the guest designer over at Creative Scrappers this morning! Anyone who has been following my blog for awhile knows how much I love CS, so it was quite an honor for me.

Today's sketch was designed by Nicole Nowosad...I absolutely adore her style and check out her blog religiously, so I was psyched about that, too. The fact that the sketch involved paint splatters just added to the wonderfulness :-)

Here is what I created:
Head on over to Creative Scrappers to see the sketch and what the CS designers did with it. I love how there are so many different layouts created from the same foundation.

Enjoy your day!

Make and Create Layout 1

Hello, everyone! The first layout I made with Anna's beautiful homemade embellishments from The Make and Create Shop is now posted on the shop's blog. Here it is: I'm totally in love with the colors or her embellies this month! I also used Creative Scrappers sketch #150 to create this layout. I always love playing along with them any chance I get :) Thanks for stopping by...enjoy your week! **on a side note, does anyone know why Blogger is not letting me put spaces between my paragraphs?? It's driving me nuts!**

CS #141

Good morning!

Today I'm playing along with last week's sketch from Creative Scrappers. I thought it was a fun sketch, but I didn't get time to play with it last week. Here is what I came up with today:Don't the boys look good? One of Eric's best friends got married on New Year's Eve on the beach. All their pictures turned out gorgeous! And you can't tell from the picture, but there are tulle stars on here as well as some beige bubble wrap pattern. I guess they are both so light in color that neither will show up in the scan...oh well! :)

This layout was inspired by Ronda Palazzari's layout, found here.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

CS #139 and a Giveaway Opportunity!

Hey, all!

Since I have a long weekend, I figured I could waste a day being crafty...and since it's Sunday, that means I got the chance to play along with Creative Scrappers right away. Here is a layout that literally took me about 15 minutes to make:
Do you love that paper? It's the new Sassafras Paper Crush collection. I was lucky enough to win it in one their blog giveaways. It came in the mail yesterday and I had to use it immediately.

Speaking of giveaways...I wanted to tell you about a sweet giveaway that is going on at Core'dinations. Core'dinations is actually giving away FIFTY of their new paper packs. Click here to see the packs up for grabs and to enter. Entries are being accepted from now until January 21st.

Thanks for popping by!

CS #132

Hello, everyone!

I finally got to scrap for fun! It's been awhile since I've been able to be crafty. I just recently procured the Crate Paper "Snow Day" collection and have been dying to use it. Gosh, I love Crate Paper. I also used sketch #132 from Creative Scrappers for my layout, although, I gotta say that I have many projects that I have made that could apply to this sketch...I love gridded layouts. Anywho, here is my layout:
It seems like it is becoming a tradition for me to make a layout about trimming the tree, as I did an almost identical layout last year. We even took pictures with some of the same ornaments!

As always, thanks for stopping by! Hope your work week goes well...

♥ my lazy Saturdays...

Hey, all! Sorry I have been absent so much this month...it's been a combination of me being busy with work and me being too lazy to do anything productive in my freetime.

Anyways, I did have a layout that I wanted to share. I used the newest Creative Scrappers sketch (#126) to make it. Here it is:
Am still loving that fun Echo Park paper and decided to do something I don't normally do: make patterned paper my background. I usually only use patterned paper as accent pieces, but this paper is just too fun...

Thanks for stopping by....hope you have a lovely weekend!

CS #124

Happy Sunday morning/afternoon/night (depending on what part of the world you are in). This morning I played with the newest sketch from Creative Scrappers. Here's my take on it:
Not my best work, I know. My "scrapitude" has been off a little bit lately. I still had some of purple products laying out from the monochromatic challenge over at Just C & S, so I kept to that color scheme.

Thanks for stopping by...have a nice work week!
