July Jillibean Soup Shares

Good morning everyone!  I wanted to pop in and share 3/4 Jillibean Soup projects that I made for July...I'll still have one more project that will be up on their blog a little later this month.

First up, this layout featuring the world's most handsome pup and the Souper Celebration collection:

Then a pocket page I finished up while I was working on #the100dayproject - this one using the Hardy Hodgepodge collection:

And finally, this wooden plank I painted for baby girl's room.  It's simple but I kind of love it:

Thanks so much for popping in!

July 2016 Project Life

Woo hoo!  Another month completed for my Project Life album!  #the100dayproject is certainly helping me catch up...and while I won't be caught up by the time the project ends on Wednesday, I should at least be motivated to continue the updates :)

Anywho, here's July 2016...a lot of these products are from Hip Kit Club...and surprisingly, their holiday kit from last year.  I love the hot pink and blue color combo, so I kept that pretty consistent throughout the monthly spread.

Thanks for popping in!  Happy weekend!

May Project Life

Hey everyone!  It's another Monday...blah :-P

I wanted to pop in and share my completed May Project Life spread with you.  I used a lot of the Pink Paislee Fancy Free collection designed by Paige Taylor Evans.  I love the bright, bold colors of the collection and how happy it makes my May look :)

And now that I'm all caught up my goal is to go back and start feeling in some of those missing months...fingers crossed :)

Thanks for stopping in - have a happy work week!

April Project Life

Good morning everyone.  Happy Monday (if there is such a thing)!  I wanted to pop in and share my April Project Life spread with you...completed because of my involvement in #the100dayproject (see my first post here).  My goal is to go back and work on last year's spreads...but that requires a lot of work up front and who knows if I'll be able to pull that off!  ;-)

Anywho, here's April...using a lot of the Felicity kit from Felicity Jane.

Thanks for popping in!  Hope your Monday and work week go well!

Project Life || January 2017

Good morning everyone!  I wanted to pop in and share a Project Life spread that I had on the Pretty Little Studio blog this past weekend.
As you are aware, I have been participating in #the100dayproject and it has gotten me back on track and is helping me catch up on all my missing PL spreads.

I decided to use the Ain't Life Grand collection for the majority of this spread and I love how bright and colorful it all turned out.  I really wanted to use happy colors to highlight the happy news that we got in January - that we are expecting our first child!  :)
Here's a look at the whole spread:
And a closer look at each individual side:
Thanks so much for stopping in!!

Project Life Catch Up with #the100dayproject

Hello all!  Happy, happy weekend!

I wanted to pop in and share that this year I have decided to participate in #the100dayproject.  If you're not familiar with the project, it was a concept developed by Elle Luna, in which you pick something and do it every day for 100 days.  I decided to go the creative route and make a project life filler card each day.

Why?  Because I am waaaaay far behind on my Project Life and it is a project that I love and that I want to continue to do for future Benjamin generations.  I think (and really, really hope) that this project will help me get back on track.

My plan:
-Get up to date with my 2017 album first...continue to update as the project runs its course, so that by the time the porject comes to an end on July 12, I will be up-to-date through June.
-Finish the few weeks I left uncompleted in my 2013 (yikes!) album.
-Finish the half-year or so I have left on my 2015 album (double yikes!).
-Finish the over half-year I have left on my 2016 album.

It seems super daunting and I'm not totally sure I'll be able to get all this done by the time the project ends, but I will make a dent in it.  I WILL!  I WILL!  :-)

The project began on the 4th, so I have already completed 5 days...and I actually had a few days where I was motivated to do a bit more, so my January 2017 spread is complete...I'll share that with you a bit a later in the month.  For now, enjoy my daily cards (and follow along in real time here)...and let me know - are you participating in #the100dayproject?

Project Life || May with Clique Kits

Good morning, everyone!  For all those living in the U.S., Happy Independence Day! I hope you a safe and happy holiday.

I am up on the Clique Kits blog today sharing my May Project Life spread.

If you've been following along with me this year, you know that I have really simplified my Project Life process, but that doesn't mean that I don't like adding some fun bits and pieces to my monthly spreads every now and then.

For the first page of my May spread I decided to make  a flip-up title card.  I did this for a couple of reasons: I prefer 4x6 title cards and the page protectors I like only have 1 4x6 slot...and I had a 4x6 picture.  Also, the picture contains a bunch of people from work and I knew that I was going to be sharing this spread online, so I decided this was the easiest way to cover it up :)  Here is the spread:

Here is the flip-up title card...I included journaling notes on the other side of it:

For the second page of my monthly spread I really wanted to find a unique way to use that awesome paper from Pinkfresh...and hence the giant "Life" title in the middle...I also managed to use the whole remaining package of SpiegelMom Scraps sequins here:

My third page is less exciting, but does include a few details that I think are fun; mainly the handmade filler cards:

Thanks for popping in...I leave you with a look at this month's kit:

March Project Life || Clique Kits

Good evening, all!  I've been having a lot of fun playing with my May Northern Lights kit from Clique Kits.  It is full of fun, bright patterns from Fancy Pants Designs and Basic Grey.  The exclusives are really great this month, too.

For my first project I decided to tackle my March Project Life spread.  I'm still keeping things simple...

I had so much fun making the title card:

And a little peek at my Project Read status this year:

The kit's colorful elements and graphic designs made it easy for me to keep everything simple and whip this baby up in no time!

Project Life 2016 plans

Good morning, all!

I mentioned way back in January that I was changing my Project Life plans for the year...and I have. I did a truly terrible job keeping up with Project Life last year...I'm not totally sure why because I did really well during the 2 years prior.  Last year was a busy year and we moved and I got a new job and I just fell more and more behind until I just didn't even want to try to catch up.

So, this year I am keeping things super simple.  I'm going to be doing monthly, instead of weekly, spreads and I will only embellish when I really want to :)

I completed my January spread back in February, but completely forgot to share.  I used my January Alegria kit from Clique Kits.  I really loved all the labels that came in the kit and decided to use those for most of my journaling.

See?  Super simple!!  And yet, I'm still getting our memories in the books.  I call that a win!

PL 2016 || Title Page

So...last year I did not do so great with the Project Life.  I made it almost half-way through the year...then we moved and I over-committed myself with other scrappy projects...and more poor album was neglected.  I hope I can go back and finish it at some point, especially since I finished my 2013 and 2014 albums and they are some of my favorite projects!

This year I have decided to re-tackle the project with a much simpler approach...but more on that in a later post.

Today I just want to share my 2016 title page.  I made it with a variety of Pretty Little Studio and SpiegelMom Scraps products.  Even though I decided not to continue with the SMS team this year, that doesn't mean that Jody's shop doesn't rock - you'll still be seeing her products in most of my work!!

So, here is my page:

You may think that Holiday Love paper from PLS is a bit over-used by me.  You're probably right.  But one of the perks to being on the design team is that I can get as many copies of it as I want...so I did!  I think it's so versatile and fun...and not at all holiday-y.

I used my Fuse Tool to trap in my numbers and my sequins from SMS.

I kept the page simple...and I like it.  Hopefully, it's setting me up for simple success for the rest of the year!

Are you doing Project Life this year?  What is your approach for it?  I'd love to hear!
